Lectures

LEFT WINTER is an interdisciplinary artist working across photography, print, sound and writing. From his studios in Berlin, his practice currently examines the materiality of images. His ongoing project (with a 2027 exhibition date) is Abandoned Archive, which re-examines photographic work made between 1994–1996 and combines a rare analogue technique with autobiography, music, and spoken word. Alongside his visual and written work, he has published several pieces of music, including releases mastered in Dolby Atmos and presented through public listening sessions developed in partnership with audio institutions.

Alongside his art practice, he has built a broad and substantial leadership profile in the creative sector. He served as Principal of a leading music school, shaping curriculum, guiding faculty, and developing programmes that bridged technical skill with artistic inquiry. Prior to that, he ran a brand design agency for ten years, leading an interdisciplinary practice and communicating visual strategy for a range of clients, with work published within multiple, high-profile books. He has served on the board of a notable arts institution, contributing to its long-term strategic and cultural development.

He is a recipient of a Cultural Champions Award from the then Prince of Wales (now King Charles III), recognising his contribution to arts and culture.

He has written and devised multiple highly engaging masterclasses and modules in music business, photography and interdisciplinary art, focusing on subjects that are both easily digestible and critically important for artists working today. His sessions address the realities shaping contemporary creative practice — from algorithms and platform business models to branding within the context of the arts, intellectual property and the landscape of music law. He has delivered these masterclasses at private, undergraduate and master’s degree levels, consistently making complex ideas accessible, relevant, and immediately useful.

Known as both a compelling orator and an attentive listener, he brings clarity, momentum and a highly attractive energy to workshops — creating spaces where participants feel engaged, supported, and creatively expanded. His exhibition and live performance history spans traditional and online contexts.
